OUR ISSUES
ACTION. BALANCE. CHOICE. CONSERVATION.
We serve as a liaison between our member companies, government and the public. We also are a member of the American Beverage Association, which provides a neutral forum in which members convene to discuss common issues while maintaining their tradition of spirited competition in the American marketplace.
Missouri Beverage Association members are dedicated to the customers we serve and the communities in which we operate. It’s why we are working hard to encourage real change and sustainable solutions.
Missouri Beverage Association Provides A Unified Voice
In State Legislative And Regulatory Matters
Personal Choice And Responsibility
We believe in personal choice and personal responsibility. We believe our customers make the best decisions for themselves and their families We oppose efforts to tax or to insert government regulation on items like soda in America’s grocery carts. It is why our industry is introducing initiatives that are meaningful and will contribute far more to solving complex health issues like obesity than those sound bite solutions that offer plenty of hype but no substance.
Leading The Way On Conservation
The beverage industry cares about the environment and is committed to helping with recycling efforts in Missouri. It is a commitment we have had for many years.
Our members are constantly searching for ways to minimize our environmental impact in all areas – including energy and water usage, vehicle emissions and fuel efficiency, and the use of recyclable packaging.
It’s why The Coca-Cola Company, PepsiCo and Keurig Dr Pepper joined with preeminent environmental and sustainability leaders World Wildlife Fund, The Recycling Partnership and Closed Loop Partners to launch the Every Bottle Back initiative. The goal is to decrease the use of new plastic by increasing the collection of plastic bottles so they can be remade into new bottles. Our bottles are made to be remade, and it’s our mission to ensure they don’t end up as waste in landfills or waterways.

Balance Calories Initiative
America’s leading beverage companies joined forces in a landmark agreement called the Balanced Calories Initiative in 2014 to decrease beverage calories in the American diet by 20 percent per person by 2025.
As part of the Balanced Calories Initiative, we’re working to cut sugar consumption from beverages by taking necessary actions to change behavior. We’re also providing more beverage options, calorie information and encouraging consumers to consider calorie balance in their purchase decisions.
